Okay. I have been wanting to reveal this room for a very, very long time. The time has finally come. And I am giddy.
Let's look at the first before:
DJ's grandmother gave us this antique desk. It has a ton of storage space (it stores hair products, extra stationery, and a few art supplies). It matched perfectly with our old bedding (which, unfortunately, I don't have a picture of. It is the same color as the fabric on the bench).
I knew I wanted to go bold with the new color, so I just bit the bullet, called one of my roomies, and we painted it! I ordered these AWESOME Anthropologie knobs, and they are perfect with it. I was searching for the perfect fabric to put on the bench, and I finally found it last week!
Of course, I am one of those who can't stick with one thing for a long time (which explains why I will never get a tattoo), so I am saving up for one of these babies.
It's a Philipe Starck Louis Ghost Chair. It's beautiful. I might cry.
Moving on to the next before and after.... This is the only "before" picture of I have of this painting. It was a hand-me-down from my parents. It is HUGE, which is awesome. And the maroon (again) matched perfectly with the old bedding. But alas, we bought new bedding, and the maroon had to go.
So with a little bit of spray paint, leftover paint from other projects, and a little pinterest inspiration (Pinspiration, if you will.... wow, that was cheesy), I turned the "lily of the valley" into this.
I wish I had a before photo of this mirror... It was another hand-me-down from my parents. The frame of the mirror was this bronzey-black color. Kind of like the "before" frame on the lily of the valley. Compared to everything else in the room, it looked dated. So a little spray paint turned it into this!
I posted about sewing my own bedding... But all of the fabric would have cost me WAYYYY too much (like $200... and I didn't want to do all of that work and spend so much money). I found this bedding for only $70 at TJ Maxx. Talk about a steal!
I also posted about pretty storage, where I showed off some wonderful purchases at the Container Store. I didn't really get to talk about it, but I also bought this lamp for only $20 at HomeGoods! I'm obsessed.
I added a couple of lamps do the desk. I plan on ordering a few black and white photos from our wedding day (or engagement photos), and they will replace the mirror. That way, the desk will be a work space rather than a vanity.
What do you think??? I must say that I'm proud of it!
Have a happy Monday! :)
