Emmett: 1 Month

Well, this sweet little nugget is one month old. And before I had a baby, I thought people were dumb for saying this, but this has seriously been the fastest month of my life, for sure.

Here's what's going on in little Emmett's world.

Weight: 9 lbs. 5 oz. - 46th percentile
Height: 22 in. - 86th percentile
Head: 15.5 in. - 99th percentile

Milestones: He's been able to hold his head up on his own since day one, but now he holds it up for several minutes at a time. So basically, he'll be walking next week. JK. I would die.

Sleep: There have been 2 nights where let us sleep 6 hours straight. Last night, he only woke up one time (PRAISES). Usually, he only likes to sleep for 2-4 hours. We're trying to establish a routine where we sleep through the night... Hopefully by the next check in, we'll be closer to that goal.

Favorite Things: FaceTiming/Skyping with family, being patted on the back or booty, riding in the car,and he loves the song "Paperweight" from the Dear John soundtrack. No lie, he can be screaming uncontrollably, and I'll turn on that song and it will calm him down. It works 99% of the time, and he doesn't react to any other music that way. Also, he hates Iggy Azalea (I'm not mad about it, y'all), and he loves piano music from the Romantic era. I think he is going to be a cultured little boy. ;)

Health: He didn't get back to his birth weight until last week, but he's doing well. The first week or so was scary because he was breathing very quickly, but that worked itself out.

Eating: He eats every few hours, so that can be a little exhausting for mama. But I'm thankful that breastfeeding has gone well for us- I know how rare that is.

And in the spirit of keeping it real (because y'all know I'm one of those who is completely honest), this is how our day was yesterday. ;)

Love that you are doing updates! And also love that you do keep it real. Because I know that most normal babies don't just always sit still and pose perfectly in every picture :)

I think crying baby pictures are the best :)

That picture! You need to save it on your phone and use it as you would an emoji! He's precious...even when screaming at the top of his lungs!

Loved the update! Isn't it crazy has fast time goes?? I laughed when you said he'll be walking in no time because it seriously seems to work out like that. Three cheers for sleeping in longer stretches and squeezing in naps anytime you can!!
